Hessian Hill Border Collies

Border Collies are a medium sized, high-energy working dog, developed to gather and control sheep in the hilly border country between Scotland and England. They are known for their intense nature and ability to control their flock. They are known to have unlimited energy, stamina and working drive, all of which make them one of the top breeds of herding dogs.

Reba - Were It All Began

Justin and Reba the Border Collie sitting side-by-side

My love affair for my Border Collies started with this beautiful girl named Reba. A friend of ours needed to dissolve his farm and needed a home for her ASAP. He called us first because when we met her 3 years prior, as a pup, I begged him to sell her to me. Needless to say, we said yes to his plea of needing to re-home her and she became our first Border Collie at HHF. We had her 14 years and even the last time she went to the barn she would crouch down to keep the ewes where she thought they should be. Now, with six Border Collies on the farm, she may not have raised any of them, but they truly are her legacy.
